Animal Reports (eISSN: 3068-5044; pISSN: 3071-4141) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to advancing scientific knowledge, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering innovation across the animal sciences. Animal Reports publishes high-quality original research, review articles, short communications, editorials, and perspectives covering all major disciplines of animal science, veterinary medicine, aquaculture, wildlife science, and related fields. Main Journal Features

  Open Access: Diamond Open Access with no publication fees, DOI registration fees, or article processing charges (APCs).

Frequency: Two issues per year (Issue 1: January–June and Issue 2: July–December). Articles are published online immediately after completion of peer review, acceptance, copyediting, typesetting, and author proof verification.

Copyright: Authors retain full copyright of their work (License: CC BY 4.0).

Metadata Registration and Discovery: Animal Reports article metadata and DOIs are registered with Crossref. The journal and its published content are also discoverable through Google Scholar, Scilit, and OpenAlex and are catalogued in Harvard Library’s HOLLIS.

Flexible Manuscript Preparation Guidelines: There are no restrictions on manuscript length or on the number of tables, figures—including color figures—or references.

Publication Ethics & Compliance: Animal Reports adheres to established ethical publishing standards and follows the principles and guidelines of COPE, ARRIVE, National Research Council, and Declaration of Helsinki, where applicable.

Peer-Review Process: Animal Reports uses a single-anonymous peer review process, in which all submitted manuscripts are evaluated by independent experts in the relevant field.

Digital Preservation and Archiving: Animal Reports ensures the long-term preservation of its published content through participation in recognized digital archiving and preservation services, including the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN). The journal also encourages self-archiving of published articles in accordance with its Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Publishing Language: Animal Reports accepts only manuscripts written in high-quality academic English.

Journal History:

Animal Reports was established in 2025 as an open-access scholarly journal. It obtained its electronic ISSN (eISSN: 3068-5044) in the same year, followed by the assignment of a print ISSN (pISSN: 3071-4141) in 2026, marking its transition to both electronic and print publishing.
